The name of the blog is Twist of Lime, the methodology behind this is that a twist of lime used a garnish to add flavour. So, the contributors to this blog will add their own flavour and produce content in the categories of travel, music, cultural commentary, food and lifestyle.
This idea was birthed out of a need for an outlet and source of information that catered to my friends and I’s unique needs and interests. We realised that the lack of representation of people like us who are a part of a sub-cultural diaspora but like nice things and experiences but would like them to be economically accessible. The value proposition of this blog is relevance, accessibility and convenience. Our aim is to #ShiftTheCulture and provide a platform for diverse voices to be represented and create content to inspire and influence.
Lime also means ‘to hang out and socialise’ in Caribbean culture so the aim is to build a tribe that mimics a diverse group of friends hanging out and bringing their own unique perspectives.
