Barbados Travel Guide
Getting There
Flying from London Gatwick with British Airways, it usually takes 7 - 9 hours to get there. The journey there and back was comfortable, and food was excellent, especially on the return flight - they provided a hot meal consisting of authentic Caribbean curry chicken with plain rice and a side dish of sweet fried plantain.
A good tip is to keep an eye during sale periods i.e. January and Summers sales as they have amazing deals and holiday packages.

WHAT TO DO
Beaching it in Barbados
Barbados is perfect for beach hopping. From the docile west coast to the unpredictable east coast, the island has a bit of everything for beach lovers and sun seekers. Each of the island’s coasts has its own personality. The most popular is undoubtedly the west coast such as Alleynes Bay and Brandon’s, whose beaches are best known for their calming allure, while the south-east and most easterly shores are a surfer’s dream. The south westerly beaches such as Accra, Dover, Carlisle and Browne’s are home to soft, radiant white sands that are perfect for lazy beach days. We would recommend exploring beach clubs called The Boatyard and Harbour Lights, they are good places to hang out with the locals and perfect if you are seeking for entertainments, excursions, restaurants and bars.
Nightlife in the gap
St. Lawrence Gap is the entertainment hub of nightlife in Barbados. It’s the reason why many visitors choose to stay in the gap, as it gives them easy access, (walking distance), to the plethora of night-time activities. The atmosphere attracts the interaction between locals and visitors, as they both frequent the area.
There is so much variety at night in The Gap. It’s a good place to just roam by taking a leisurely stroll and then make impromptu decisions as to what to take in for the night. One thing is for sure, there are plenty of options ranging from casual dining, live entertainment and clubs/bars.
Crop Over
The biggest scene of Barbados’ culture is the Crop Over festival.
